Since the time, 70 million years ago, when the little primate Purgatorius, neighbour of the dinosaurs, survived at the great extinction, monkeys started to inhabit the Earth. Their history is fascinating and concerns us directly: the likeness with the chimpanzee, for not mentioning the Australopithecus, is thus inseparable from our origins.
