The theme of the sign, in strict reference to the pragmatism of Charles Sanders Peirce, is the center of this volume. It inaugurates a gnoseological perspective based on the idea that every cognitive act is placed within a chain of referrals, never referring to a presumed ultimate objectivity, but to that dynamic and supraindividual Interpretation that is the living horizon in which the comprising operations are placed. The hermeneutical question thus emerges at the heart of the so-called “semiotic triangle” (Sign-Object-Interpreting) and the interweaving of signs in which the truth gradually configures itself, open to an infinite path, calls into question epistemological , cosmological and ethical questions.
