Latin America, that used to be the perphery of the world, acquires today a central role in the process of ending the separation between critical thought and social action, between theory and practice. From the subcontinent come all the challenges to the contemporary world: alternatives to capitalism, environmental crisis, racism, full recognition of equal dignity for all the people.
