It is not possible to understand Hinduism if we compare it to the modern Western concept of religion. Hinduism can not be traced back to any principle, it is impossible to trace an essence: there is no Hindu principle, nor a founder. However, Hinduism has an existence. Hindu is one who accepts his karman and recognizes his dharma. Karman means “doing, action” and dharma could be translated as “duty, religion”. But the concept of religion is foreign to Hinduism, and rather it is very close to many of the primordial African religions that mean “religion” as the full form of the human being.
