Philosopher, scholar of religions, theologian, man of dialogue between cultures, bridge between the West and India, Panikkar decides to place mysticism as the first brick of his Works. Since ancient times, mysticism has been considered a more or less extraordinary particular phenomenon, something outside the normal knowledge of the human being, something special - pathological, paranormal or supernatural. In these pages Panikkar intends to reintegrate mysticism into the very being of man. Mysticism is not a specialization, but an anthropological dimension that belongs to the human being as such. Authentic mysticism makes us discover our humanity. If the first two sections of the volume are respectively dedicated to the discovery of a New Innocence and to the method of Contemplation, the third is an enlightened transcultural immersion in the various forms of that Mystical Experience that every authentic religious tradition places at the center of itself, without, however, being able to complete its definition.
