Franco Alberto Gallo

An internationally renowned musicologist and eminent scholar of medieval music, he was director of the Department of Musicology at the University of Bologna. Pioneer of the discipline, with particular regard to the Middle Ages, is a distinguished scholar, unanimously acknowledged and appreciated in both Europe and the United States. He has been President of the Italian Society of Musicology, vice president of the International Musicology Society, Harvard University Fellow, visiting professor at various universities and research centers such as the Center d’Études Superiors de la Renaissance (CESR) de Tours, the University of Tokyo, the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne and the Fundaciò “La Caixa” in Barcelona.
